Check the message first
Read the draft without editing individual words. Can you state its main point in one sentence? Does each section support that point? Compare the result with your original notes, especially where an AI suggestion has added a conclusion or changed a qualification.
Remove material that does not serve the reader. A polished introduction may still be unnecessary, and a confident recommendation may go beyond what your sources establish. Keep uncertainty visible when it matters to the decision you are describing.
Verify the details
Check names, dates, figures, quotations, links, and attributed statements against reliable sources. Open a cited source yourself and confirm that it supports the exact claim. Do not publish a reference you cannot locate or a quotation you cannot verify.
Look for private information and material owned by others. Permission to read a source does not always include permission to reproduce it. Vellumora's Copyright Policy explains the limits of AI output and the reporting process; it does not guarantee that generated text is free of infringement.
Make the final editorial choice
Read the draft aloud or review it in short sections. Replace vague phrases with language you would use, check transitions, and remove repetition. Accept only changes you can explain and stand behind.
Before sending the document, confirm the intended audience and the version you are sharing. Keep a copy of important work. For public links, review sharing a document responsibly and the Content Policy.
