Getting started with Vellumora

Start with a small draft, give the AI a focused task, and review the result before you share it.

A useful first session begins with a document you understand. Choose a short piece of writing, such as a project update or an introduction, and decide what the reader should learn from it.

Begin with your own purpose

Sign in to Vellumora and create a draft from your workspace. Give it a descriptive title so you can find it later. Write a few notes about the audience, the message, and the details you already know. You can work on the wording yourself before asking for AI assistance.

For a first exercise, use a short, non-sensitive paragraph. Avoid uploading confidential material or someone else's work without permission. The Privacy Policy explains how requested AI actions can involve third-party services.

Ask for one change at a time

Choose a task with a clear boundary: outline an introduction, suggest a clearer sentence, or identify an unclear transition. Include the intended audience and any details that must stay unchanged. A narrower request makes it easier to judge whether a suggestion is useful.

Read the proposed text alongside your original. Keep the parts that express your meaning, edit anything that does not, and reject additions you cannot verify. AI assistance can produce mistakes and does not replace your judgment.

Finish with a review

Check names, dates, factual claims, and permissions before sharing. Keep an independent copy of important work. If you use AI actions, review the credit balance and the options available to your account; the Subscription Agreement explains the general credit rules.

For your next draft, try writing a useful AI prompt with a specific goal and an example of the tone you want.
